About Sophie

Is life overwhelming and you need to talk to someone? Or to do you need help to develop coping strategies for anxiety? Whatever challenges you are facing, as a qualified and BACP registered counsellor, I offer a safe, confidential and impartial space to explore your feelings. Being heard, seen and accepted in this space, without judgement can be really helpful and healing. I will also ask questions and maybe offer different perspectives to provide you with a better understanding of yourself and situation. Additionally, I can offer tools that you can use to manage feelings such as anxiety or anger.

I am passionate about my work and everyday see how counselling can make a difference. My counselling experience is diverse and includes working with people who have anxiety, depression, or relationship issues. I have helped people in overcoming issues such as disordered eating, low self-esteem, and the emotional trauma caused by abuse. I also volunteer with a bereavement charity, so have had extensive experience of supporting people through the loss of a loved one.

I work to best fit you as an individual, whether you need a compassionate space to share your story or whether you need a more focused approach to develop coping strategies and resilience for current and future problems. As I believe that you are the best person to know what is right for you, I won't give you advice, but will support you in exploring your options and we'll work together to get you to a better place.

If this resonates with you, I would love to hear from you. I offer weekly or fortnightly sessions to suit you, and can do short or long term therapy. How long the process takes varies from person to person, and the issues they come with. You are in control of the number and frequency of sessions and when you want to stop. It’s up to you how far you want to go on the journey of self-knowledge and what you want to get out of it. My role is to help you to get what you need from the process to move on with your life as quickly as possible.
