I'm a BACP-registered, psychodynamically trained and qualified psychotherapist. In my experience therapy can help with a number of situations; some people want to learn how to handle their emotions differently; some want to improve relationships with others; some are struggling to move beyond abuse or trauma and others feel overwhelmed with feelings of depression or anxiety. While everybody's situation is different, considerable benefits can be derived from accessing the 'talking cure'. Understanding more about your feelings can lead to you becoming a more empowered and contented version of yourself.
I have been fortunate to work with a broad range of clients in organisations including Outreach Services for Octavia Foundation, Student Services for BIMM Institute (a British university for the creative industries), Terrence Higgins Trust and The Rock Clinic, a charity providing affordable counselling and psychotherapy in Brighton & Hove. I have many years’ experience working with clients to help them understand how long-standing conflicts from their past might be negatively impacting their lives today. There can be valuable breakthroughs when considering how past relationships have become blueprints for current ones and having the time and space to reflect on what has gone before can prove useful when considering current issues. I offer weekly therapy sessions that can continue for a few weeks, or be undertaken on a longer-term, open-ended basis.
