About me and my practice
As an experienced person-centred, integrative therapist I work with adults and adolescents (12+). I specialise in working with depression, stress and bereavement and I also work extensively with individuals who are, or suspect they may be, neurodiverse.
Many people want to talk to friends or family about their struggles, yet embarrassment or shame can be a barrier. If you have a sense of being stuck and not knowing where to start, then I will enable you to feel comfortable and safe so you can explore your difficulties. If you are experiencing burnout, low mood, anxiety, relationship difficulties or feel a sense of rejection and loneliness, I will listen and hear you whilst offering kindness and compassion without judgement.
If you cope with emotional dysregulation in a way that worries you, perhaps by self-harming, substance misuse or pushing yourself too hard and masking your struggles; that can be exhausting. Perhaps you experience suicidal ideation which can feel scary or impossible to share with those closest to you. We explore your difficult emotions, thoughts or behaviours together in a calm, safe manner as I am confident in assessing risk, safeguarding & safety planning.
I offer a professional, yet down-to-earth therapeutic relationship where we can work together on the issues that have led you to seek therapy for yourself or your child. I acknowledge it can be challenging to trust someone with your innermost fears and worries; it can feel awkward or even painful. Yet therapy can offer you an opportunity to grow and to gain insight. By developing practical emotional regulation strategies, you could then improve your resilience and experience genuine self-acceptance, empowered to make changes to your wellbeing.
Experience and Expertise
I am an NCPS accredited practitioner with 6 years of experience. I have worked within the NHS as a senior CAMHS clinician and an Urgent Support Team clinician working with risk and suicidality. I now work solely privately with both neurotypical and neurodivergent adolescents (12+) and adult clients. I have specialised training in suicide risk, depression and DBT skills which I integrate into my practice.
Sessions
I offer weekly or fortnightly sessions, either in person or online via video. Therapy can be short or longer term and is led by your needs and priorities. I can work directly with you plus I am a recognised health insurance provider for BUPA, Aviva, WPA and Vitality.
I offer a free 20 minute consultation call and will always aim to be as flexible as possible, particularly online.
