Therapeutic yoga found me over ten years ago: at a very challenging period of my life yoga provided a safe return to my body and offered me a way to know myself more deeply. It's a life long journey and I am grateful for the opportunities yoga has created for me to heal, develop and respond authentically to my physical, mental and emotional needs.
My approach in sessions with clients (after an in depth intake process) tends to be intuitive; I will guide you towards a deeper understanding of experiences within your body and how they might show up in your life, habits, relationships and patterns of behaviour. Within an environment of safety we can connect with what is present and allow opportunities for new meaning to arise. I will offer gentle psychological inquiry into visceral experience and patterns within your mind for you to connect with your own wisdom and make your own discoveries as you journey towards greater wellness.
The yoga tradition views humans as a multidimensional system including all aspects of body; breath; mind; intellect and emotions and their mutual interaction. Yoga therapy's efficacy is supported by a body of research evidence, contributing to the growing understanding and acceptance of its value as a therapeutic discipline. I incorporate the latest findings of psychology and neuroscience into my work.
