I have worked in mental health for over 30 years, and as a psychotherapist for over 20 years. And it is not only the professional training that has taught me how to guide you through pain and sorrow etc but the reality of living through so much myself. Hence if as well as support you need some perspective on what you are going through; if experience and insight is useful to you right now; if you need an existential philosophical context brought to your personal story: come and find me. No matter what we are going through it is always important to remember that somewhere some time, a bigger picture will emerge: I can help you to see it.
As well as your mental activity and emotional life I work with the imaginative world of the psyche; as well as the trapped patterns of the mind's narratives I work with the language of the body's sensations. I use meditational visualizations to invite calm and to open the doors to the imaginative world. I teach you safe outlets for anger, and offer you a warm place to feel less alone. Most of all I create a safe space for you: to let me get to know you in the deeper often hidden parts of yourself. In other words this work - our work - is all about connection; much as I love my job, I could not do it without you: ultimately the goal is to help you become the expert on yourself.
