I am a clinical psychologist registered with the Health Care Professionals Council and with many years of experience in the NHS supporting adults from different backgrounds who struggle with a range of mental health difficulties. Examples include different types of anxiety, depression or low mood, difficulties with handling emotions or managing relationships, stress related to work or major life events, as well as unusual distressing experiences.
In my work I draw on different therapeutic models including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, CBT, but also systemic and narrative approaches. Above all I strive to offer a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you will feel heard and supported to handle life’s challenges.
My aim is for you to feel encouraged to draw on your helpful coping strategies but also to practice new ways of managing difficult feelings, thoughts, or other distressing experiences so that they are not getting in the way of living a meaningful life. I will ensure therapy is tailored to your individual needs and unique experiences, whilst maintaining a critical view of mental health, looking beyond diagnoses as a way of making sense of your difficulties.
