Hello and thankyou for viewing my profile.
My name is Tara and I am qualified counsellor with 5 years experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, depression, motivation, self-worth, self esteem, confidence, bereavement and loneliness. This also includes the addiction field.
I have an interest in the relationship dynamics between family members (e.g. mother and daughter), parental/family beliefs, and how ancestral beliefs and patterns can sometimes be passed down through family lineage.
I work with clients on a short or long term basis, exploring past and present issues, whilst providing a safe, warm and confidential space where we can work together to look at any thoughts and feelings you may want to unpack during therapy. This is your time and space to express yourself freely and without judgement.
Each person is unique and we all experience life in different ways, therefore I work with clients using various modalities in therapy (i.e. humanistic/person centred/psychodynamic/spiritual/integrative). This helps me to work with you in the best way possible, and for you to get the most out of your counselling experience.
I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), bound by their code of ethics, which means I will work within my professional competency.
Appointments are arranged mutually, usually every week, at the same day and time, (which we can talk about in our initial consultation) and last for 50 minutes to an hour.
If you would like to know more or have a free 15 minute consultation, please feel free to contact me and see how we can work together.
If I do not answer, please leave a message, text or email, as I may be with a client, and will get back to you as soon as possible.
If you would like to proceed with counselling after the initial consultation, I will then send you a client/counsellor agreement which you can read through and confirm you have read and understood how the arrangement will work and return via email.
Please note that I do not provide crisis counselling and further information and contacts can be found on the NHS site https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/mental-health-services/where-to-get-urgent-help-for-mental-health/
