Everyone can at times experience feelings or situations that are difficult and need sharing. My family and systemic psychotherapy qualification and experience allows me to work with individuals, couples and families across all ages. I create a safe space to explore worries, strengths and a person’s important relationships. At the same time, my Psychology training allows me to draw from a wide variety of therapeutic approaches to help each person according to their unique needs. I have a range of experience in the NHS, private practice and voluntary sector and I have worked with a big range of different mental health difficulties.
Systemic thinking widens the picture to more than just the individual. A bit like when you zoom out on your camera and you look at the bigger picture. I use a relational lens, exploring a person’s wider context(s), family of origin and current close relationships. This therapeutic approach has strong evidence base and is recommended for a variety of mental health difficulties. It can be used with individuals, couples and families.
Reaching out for help and support can be hard but it’s the beginning of a brave journey. I am happy to explore with you whether I can be helpful and I value ethical collaborative practice extremely highly. If I do not think I can be helpful, I will discuss it with you immediately.
