Hi I am a person -centered counsellor based in Leicestershire who specializes in helping to resolve emotional, psychological and relationship issues. I have over 32years NHS experience as a health professional working within mental health, learning disabilities and care of the elderly. This gives me a broad and diverse understanding of mental health difficulties which I have gained through my counselling and NHS background. I am a registered member of the National Counselling Society and a registered BACP member( MBACP) I work within their ethical frameworks. I am fully insured and registered with the ICO and have a enhanced DBS, . I am currently offering telephone or zoom sessions and face to face session on Saturday and Sunday. The face to face session will be at my home address either from my conservatory or my garden office. The first steps in accessing counselling can be difficult, but in taking those first steps. You can change your life by having someone walk by your side on this personal journey. By creating an environment where as client you feel safe, contained and able to talk freely. This helps to enhance the therapeutic relationship and as your counsellor I will meet you with empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence. I can offer short term or long term counselling and this is done by arranging a mutually convenient time which will be set aside each week for 50 mins. Our first free session will be for 20 mins where I encourage you to ask questions and to get a feel if counselling and working with me is the right option for you. I strongly believe that the counselling relationship is collaborative and should fully involve the client. As this allows you as the client to regain your own autonomy, lives a journey and we can and do change course. recognising that that it okay to change direction, or to chart your own path can be a freeing experience.
