About Sarah

Psychotherapist • Behaviour Change Practitioner • Educator

Hi, I'm Sarah,

I’m a pluralistic psychotherapist offering warm, collaborative and practical therapy for individuals and couples.

I work particularly with emotional regulation, anxiety and overwhelm, relationships, repeating patterns, self-worth, burnout, ADHD and neurodivergence.

Many of the people I work with are very self-aware. They may already understand why they behave or feel as they do - yet find that insight alone hasn’t necessarily changed what happens when they’re overwhelmed, triggered, anxious or caught in a familiar pattern.

That gap between knowing and doing is something I’m particularly interested in.

My work is guided by a simple framework:

Understand the pattern. Regulate the response. Create the change.

How I work

I don’t believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. As a pluralistic therapist, I work collaboratively and can draw on psychotherapy, psychodynamic and person-centred work, CBT-informed and solution-focused approaches, clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT, mindfulness, nervous-system regulation and practical behaviour-change strategies.

Some sessions may involve exploring where a pattern began. Others may focus much more on what happened this week and what could help you respond differently next time.

I’m an active therapist. I’ll give you space to talk and think, but I’ll also ask questions, notice patterns, gently challenge when appropriate and help make psychological ideas understandable and useful.

There can be humour too. Therapy can be meaningful without always feeling clinical or intimidating.

What we might work with

I support clients experiencing anxiety and overthinking, emotional overwhelm and dysregulation, low self-esteem, people-pleasing and boundaries, relationship difficulties, repeating patterns, stress and burnout, confidence and identity, difficult life transitions, coping behaviours and that difficult-to-describe feeling of simply being stuck.

I also have a particular interest in ADHD and neurodivergence, including emotional regulation, rejection sensitivity, executive functioning, procrastination, overwhelm, impulsivity, masking, burnout and relationships.

You do not need a formal diagnosis to work with me.

Couples

I work with couples around communication, recurring conflict, trust, emotional disconnection, intimacy, attachment and neurodivergent relationship dynamics.

Rather than focusing only on the subject of an argument, I help couples slow down and understand the cycle developing between them.

Understand the pattern, not just the argument.

Therapy beyond the conversation

Where helpful, I will send personalised reflections, exercises or resources following our sessions to support the work we’re doing together.

I want therapy to create insight, but I’m equally interested in what happens afterwards: the conversation you approach differently, the boundary you set, the reaction you notice earlier or the small change you begin practising.

Fees

Individual Therapy — £55 per 60-minute session

Couples Therapy — £85 per 60-minute session

A limited number of £40 concessionary individual appointments are available for people experiencing financial difficulty.

Sessions are available online or in person in Widnes, Cheshire.

There is no expectation that you commit to a fixed number of sessions. We can review the work together as we go.

Before we begin

I offer a free, informal 20-minute consultation so you can tell me a little about what you’re looking for, ask questions and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

Choosing a therapist is personal. The consultation gives us both an opportunity to see whether that fit feels right before you make any commitment.
