About Raluca

You may have reached a point where you know that something needs to change, but you're not quite sure how to make that change happen. Perhaps you feel anxious, low, or overwhelmed, find yourself overthinking, struggle with your confidence, or notice that the same difficulties keep appearing in your relationships.

You may also find that you become easily frustrated or angry, struggle to communicate what you need, or find it difficult to understand why certain situations affect you so strongly.

Therapy can give you a space to slow things down, understand what is happening beneath these patterns and begin making changes that feel meaningful in your everyday life.

I am a BACP Registered CBT Therapist and Psychotherapist, trained and qualified in Romania, where I also trained and worked as a Clinical Psychologist. My main therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which I combine with mindfulness and other integrative techniques depending on your individual needs.

I work with adults experiencing difficulties including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties and neurodiversity.

I also have a particular interest in supporting people who are living away from their country of origin or adapting to life in a different culture.

Living abroad can bring experiences that are difficult to explain to people who have not been through them. You may be trying to build a new life while also dealing with loneliness, cultural differences, homesickness, changes in identity, family expectations or difficulties finding a sense of belonging. These experiences can affect your confidence, relationships and emotional wellbeing.

How I can help

Our work together would be collaborative and focused on what you would like to change. We might explore the thoughts and beliefs contributing to anxiety or low mood, understand patterns that repeatedly appear in your relationships, or develop healthier ways of responding when you feel overwhelmed, frustrated or angry.

Depending on your goals, therapy may help you to:

  • understand and manage anxiety, low mood and overwhelming emotions
  • recognise unhelpful thinking patterns and develop more balanced ways of responding
  • improve your confidence and self-esteem
  • understand recurring patterns in relationships and develop healthier ways of communicating
  • manage anger, frustration and emotional reactions more effectively
  • cope with life transitions, cultural adjustment and the challenges of living abroad
  • better understand yourself and your needs in the context of neurodiversity
  • develop practical strategies that you can use in your everyday life.

I don't believe therapy should be about simply talking about your difficulties without knowing where you are going. We can identify what you want to change, work towards realistic goals, and regularly reflect on how things are progressing. Where appropriate, I use standardised measures alongside our therapeutic work to help us monitor changes in areas such as mood and anxiety over time.

Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be open and honest without feeling judged. You don't need to have everything figured out before you start. We can begin with where you are now and work together towards where you would like to be.
