About Naomi

Hi, thanks for taking a look at my profile.  It’s not easy to reach out for help and it can be hard to know what you need from the many services and therapists on offer.

Like others I work with, you might find it hard to trust in people and open up.  You may be good at hiding your hurt and pain? Maybe you’re worried you’re making a big deal over things that you should have moved on from by now?

Perhaps you’re ashamed that these things happened in the first place or feel embarrassed that they still bother you? It might feel wrong to feel sad when some things in your life are going well and others have it so much harder? Maybe you don’t really want therapy at all but a loved one has said it’s something you “must” do?

These are all really normal worries for anyone starting therapy. With 25 years experience of offering psychological therapy, no matter how big or small your problem is, I’ve probably worked with someone trying to overcome a similar situation.  Even if you don’t believe it right now, you deserve to feel happy and contented with life and I can help you achieve this.

Therapy is a journey and you want to know you’re in safe hands. So you can be sure its right for you, I offer a complementary 30-minute zoom consultation.  This is to let you get a sense of me and understand more about how I work.  You don’t have to make a commitment during this meeting.  If you’re ready to get started, please email me, I will be happy to help.

About me:

I’m a clinical psychologist and have been practising for 25 years.   Alongside seeing patients in private practice, I have set up and run specialist trauma-focused services within the NHS and the Prison Service.   Most of those I’ve worked with have been struggling with relational problems for a very long time and often felt hopeless about the possibility of change.  Many of the people I’ve worked with were men.

My own experiences help me understand how hard it can be to get started and why it’s so important to find the person that feels “right” for you.   I also understand how important it is to treat yourself with compassion - especially when you are feeling little compassion for yourself!  I practice yoga and mindfulness and have incorporated a range of well-being interventions such as ecotherapy, neurotech, coherent breathing and Safe & Sound Protocol™ into my practice.   I can help you find ways to use these things to support your own psychological growth if you think they could be helpful to you.
