About Louise

About Me

Depth. Warmth. Real Connection.

I’m an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist with a passion for helping people reconnect with who they truly are.

My work blends Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches - combining deep empathy and authentic presence with powerful insight into the unconscious patterns that shape our lives.

If you’re feeling lost, anxious, stuck, or weighed down by the past, I offer a calm and compassionate space to help you untangle what’s going on beneath the surface.

Together, we’ll explore your story with curiosity and care, uncover the beliefs that no longer serve you, and help you move toward greater self-understanding, freedom, and confidence.

Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” you, it’s about rediscovering your wholeness. I believe every person holds the wisdom and capacity to heal, but sometimes we need someone to walk beside us as we find our way back to it.

My role is to help you see yourself more clearly, connect the dots between past and present, and open up new ways of relating to yourself and others, that feel more authentic and alive.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and deeply attuned. I listen carefully, not just to your words, but to the emotions and meanings that live underneath them.

My style is relational and collaborative: I don’t sit silently behind a wall of theory, but meet you as a real person. You’ll feel truly seen, understood, and gently challenged in ways that foster lasting change.

My Philosophy

You are not broken ! You are becoming.

Sometimes life’s challenges are the very catalysts that call us to grow.

Together, we can make sense of your experiences, reclaim your voice, and help you build a more peaceful, connected, and fulfilling life, one rooted in the truth of who you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

My journey to becoming an Integrative Counsellor began in 2014, when I started training with the CPCAB at West Hertfordshire College. From the very beginning, I was drawn to understanding people, their emotions, behaviours, and the ways we make meaning of our experiences. I went on to study Psychology with the Open University, deepening my understanding of human behaviour and how thoughts, emotions, and environment interact to shape our lives.

I completed my Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling at the Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Academy, where I developed the skills and competencies to work therapeutically with adults and young people. My training integrated person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive approaches, giving me the flexibility to meet each client as a unique individual with their own story and way of being.

In 2019, I joined the NHS IAPT Talking Therapies service in Brixton, offering short-term counselling to adults facing a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, trauma, and identity-related difficulties. Working within a GP practice allowed me to collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, manage complex risk, and support clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Alongside this, I worked for Mental Health Innovations as a Crisis Counsellor with Give Us a Shout, supporting adults and young people in moments of acute crisis. This experience strengthened my ability to listen deeply, remain calm under pressure, and provide hope and safety in difficult moments.

At Mind in Camden, I worked as part of the Healthy Minds Programme, helping individuals reconnect with their communities and rebuild confidence after periods of mental ill-health. I later joined Mind in City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, where I helped establish and lead a suicide bereavement support service across eight London boroughs, mentoring peers with lived experience and delivering crisis interventions, wellbeing groups, and reports for the NHS and Public Health England.

I now work in private practice at The Brixton Practice, offering both short-term and open-ended therapy, face-to-face and online.

My clients include a wide range of adults and university students, from those starting university to PhD candidates, who are navigating challenges such as imposter syndrome, academic pressure, loneliness, and self-esteem difficulties. I also work with BetterHelp, providing accessible online therapy to clients across the UK and internationally.

These experiences have given me a deep respect for the transformative power of therapy and the privilege of witnessing people’s resilience and growth. My work is guided by empathy, integrity, and curiosity, I believe that everyone’s story matters, and that meaningful change begins with being heard and understood.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I continue to develop my knowledge through ongoing CPD, including ASIST Suicide Intervention and First Aid Training, Safeguarding, and Trauma-Informed Practice, for which I received a Silver Award in 2022.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on multiple therapeutic perspectives to honour the uniqueness of every individual I work with. My aim is to create a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore, understand, and ultimately move towards a more connected and fulfilling sense of self.
