About Dr Kerry Johanna

Hello and welcome to my Clinical Psychology Practice. My name is Dr Kerry Johanna Malone. I am a Principal and Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist (DClinPsych). I am HCPC registered and have worked in various mental health settings within the NHS since 2013.

Our world is frantic. Sometimes it can feel like we are going through the motions of daily life, coping as best we can with difficult experiences. It can be hard to recognise the impact our experiences can have on our psychological well-being. It can feel overwhelming to acknowledge, process and heal from the things that have hurt and harmed us. It doesn’t have to be this way. Mental health difficulties, poor psychological well-being and distress are understandable responses to the challenging situations we encounter in our lives. You can however feel better than you do right now and even feel well in your mental health. Within therapy we can work together to understand your experiences in the context of your life story and your relationships. We can begin to develop effective and evidence based ways of coping with the challenges you face. This can holistically improve your psychological well-being.

In therapy, I provide a welcoming, compassionate and safe space where you will have the time to work on you. I am trained and skilled in therapeutic approaches for a range of experiences including:

Anxiety

Depression

Work related stress

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Panic

Grief and loss

Life transitions and changes

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD

Anger and emotional regulation

Low self-esteem

Relational and relationship difficulties

Neuro-Diversity including Autism Spectrum Disorders and ADHD

The impact of childhood trauma and adversity

Complexities of Personality including working with Personality Disorders.

I am integrated in my approach to therapy, drawing on:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and

Schema Focussed Therapy.

This breadth of therapeutic styles ensures we find the right fit for your unique experiences and needs.

If after reading this you feel the time is right to focus on yourself, to explore, to recognise, to understand and to begin to approach your difficulties, do get in touch. I offer a free 20 minute no obligation initial consultation where we will have the chance to meet and to think together about whether I am the right person to help you work towards your goals.

No need to rush through the city for therapy sessions. Therapy can be provided online to you via the Augmentive video platform. This allows us to connect at a time and place that feels most comfortable to you, allowing for upmost flexibility.

Should you be closer to my location in Glasgow, Scotland, I offer therapy in person from a warm and welcoming therapy room which is accessible by public transport and with ample parking.

I look forward to meeting you and to working alongside you soon.
