I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with a background in science and psychology. I will work integratively with you which means I use a mixture of different therapy perspectives (Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Transactional Analyis) as well as integrating brain science to support you to better understand yourself.
My aim is always towards improved mental health by helping you address issues and patterns that you find interfere with your life and prevent you from moving forward in the way you wish to. This might be by working with you to explore and challenge the judgements you make of yourself that create feelings of anxiety and depression, how to come to terms with deep trauma from your past, or perhaps working on something very specific such as a relationship or work issue that you would like to better understand and cope with.
As humans, we are social creatures and so have an instinctive need to share and offload to another person. However, this needs to be with someone who is listening carefully with empathy and no judgement to relieve our loneliness and help us to make sense of confusion. This, alongside the feeling of being able to confidentially share with a neutral person, is why therapy can be so helpful.
