Asking for help can be a monumental decision that requires a lot of courage, and finding the right therapist can be an equally difficult task. My aim is to make therapy a safe and collaborative space for you to bring whatever is troubling you. I work with individuals aged 18 and older on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
In addition to my private work with clients, I have worked as a volunteer counsellor at the University of East Anglia Counselling Service and at the Norwich Centre. I also provide counselling services through an Employee Assistance Program, and I have served as a listening volunteer for Samaritans.
My core training is person-centred therapy, an approach pioneered by Carl Rogers in the 1940s as an alternative to traditional psychotherapy. Person-centred therapy moves away from the idea of the therapist as an expert who can fix you, trusting instead that you have the innate capacity to fulfil your own potential, given the right conditions. A strong and caring therapeutic relationship, based in genuine acceptance and empathic understanding, forms the foundation of person-centred therapy.
I am passionate about the approach that I use, and I love the challenge of my work with clients. I choose to work in a person-centred way because it is a deeply respectful and effective approach to therapy.
If you are looking for an experienced therapist who can provide a warm and inviting space to explore whatever is troubling you, feel free to get in touch today. I look forward to hearing from you!
My personal pronouns are he/him/his.
