CBT/REBT therapist, 18+ clients only
CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) can be used across a wide range of cognitive (thoughts-based), behavioural and emotional issues, either specifically - for a fear of public speaking, perfectionist thinking or insomnia perhaps, or more generally when you are dealing with difficult feelings, such as chronic anxiety, low mood and anger, or shame and guilt. It can also work well for conditions such as OCD and disordered eating. I work integratively, which means I borrow certain tools from other types of therapy too, especially from Compassion Focused Therapy, which gives an evolutionary explanation as to why we think, act and feel as we do, and Solution Focused Therapy, which can empower you to navigate difficulties by using skills you already have.
My specialism is REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy) which is a branch of CBT with strong philosophical roots based in Humanism and Stoicism in particular. We will work through your current issue together, turning it over and thinking about it from different angles, and I will share a framework with you that you will then be able to apply broadly to any future ups and downs you may experience. This will help you build resilience and - crucially - self-compassion when life's inevitable difficulties come along.

I work both online and from rooms in North London, close to Kentish Town tube station.
I am a CBT/REBT counsellor trained by the College of Cognitive Behaviour Therapies in London. I have client experience through a GP Surgery, work for an NHS IAPT service and take private referrals. I have plenty of life experience to draw on too, which I use to inform my practice and aim to create a safe, compassionate space for work with my clients.
