I am a registered Counsellor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Systemic Practice with Families and Couples and an MSc in Counselling and Psychology.
I work alongside my client, looking at the client as an autonomous person and as part of a wider family unit.
I specialise in bereavement counselling particularly perinatal loss in which I have much experience, having worked in a hospital bereavement support service. I have also written a dissertation at Masters Level on perinatal loss.
Unfortunately following Covid people have been suffering from complex bereavement issues, struggling alone and not having been able to be with their loved one who died and grieving alone.
I am experienced and able to support you at this very difficult time.
I am also skilled in working with a wide range of issues. I work with some clients simply on 'resilience counselling'; to work on their skills to empower them to deal with the daily challenges of life. I have successfully worked with clients who are suffering from anxiety and /or depression using a range of therapy modalities.
I utilise an eclectic range of methods to include CBT, Brief Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Narrative therapy or Person Centred Counselling. I also utilise mindfulness and relaxation techniques as and when the client wishes.
