Denise Kristiansen

With 27 years of experience in mental health nursing, Denise brings extensive clinical expertise and a thoughtful, patient-centred approach to supporting adults with complex needs. Her career has spanned residential services, acute mental health units, community mental health teams and adult ADHD services, providing her with a broad and well-rounded understanding of adult mental health.

Over the past 8 years, she has specialised in adult ADHD as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and V300 Independent Prescriber. Her work has focused on developing and overseeing personalised titration plans, prescribing medication, and carefully monitoring progress to optimise symptom management. She has also supported the development of adult ADHD services, including initiatives to assist GPs with shared care monitoring, and regularly delivered training to GPs and other healthcare professionals.

She has highly developed skills in adult mental health care, risk assessment and management, and a strong foundation in pharmacology and safe prescribing practice. Known for her clear communication and collaborative style, she works closely with patients to ensure treatment is responsive, well-tolerated, and aligned with their individual goals.

Within our service, she focuses on medical titration and prescribing for adults who have received a diagnosis and started treatment with one of our psychiatry team. Her role centres on ensuring safe, effective, and carefully monitored treatment, supporting patients to achieve stability and the best possible outcomes from their medication.

She is a registered member with the NMC.
