I have worked within mental health services for over 10 years and have seen the benefit counselling and psychotherapy can have on an individuals mental health. I believe having a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings greatly improves a person mental health. I am trained to work psychodynamically.
The Psychodynamic approach
The psychodynamic approach is based on the idea that earlier life experiences influence our current relationships. Within a psychodynamic session we would explore together your thoughts and feelings of current events to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and explore how past events may be influencing your current situation.
Short term psychotherapy
I can offer short term problem focused psychotherapy that will allow you to explore a specific issue. This would normally be 6 to 24 sessions.
Open ended psychotherapy
I can offer open ended psychotherapy where there is no set time period. Long term psychotherapy allows a deeper exploration of yourself, how you relate to others and how past experiences influence the present.
