Our mental and emotional health can be impacted by many things, and at the current time there are many different aspects that are having an impact on our mood, levels of anxiety and our self-steem.

The decision to attend counsellingi is not always easy, and is often be sought when we are at our lowest ebb, taking courage to admit that you are struggling to cope.

As your Counsellor I will support you with warmth and kindess, to enable you find your own way forward.

Our relationship will be based on trust, and I will work with you in a confidential space to help you explore parts that are having a negative impact on your life and your self-esteem.

Prior to our first session being agreed I would like to have a chat with you to discuss how I can support you and answer any counselling-related questions you may have.

This discussion can also help you decide if I will be the right counsellor for you, as a good realtionship between us can help ensure counselling will be a success.

Being a Person-Centred Counsellor I believe that I am in a privileged position to support you to achieve positive change in your life, and offer a safe and confidential space for our sessions together.

As someone who became a Counsellor later in life, I also bring many years of life experience to my practice (including my many years as a Samaritans volunteer) which I feel compliment my position as a Counsellor.

The main focus of my private counselling practice is supporting clients (adults and teenagers) with anxiety, grief and loss, depression, anger, relationship(s), domestic and sexual abuse, suicidal ideation, low self-esteem and self-worth.

In addition to working in private practice I also work as a School Counsellor in one of the largest comprehensive schools in Scotland, supporting young pupils with a wide range of mental health concerns.
