Hello! I’m Aura. I’m a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, and an accredited member of the National Counselling Society. I started my career working in elite performance and sporting environments and have been working in private practice for over eight years.
My clients tend to be people who want to deeply explore themselves, their lives, and the challenges they face. I have worked extensively with people struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, disrupted relationships with their bodies, and periods of transition and uncertainty. I have a really collaborative approach to therapy - we are a team, working together to get you to where you want to be.
Broadly speaking, my aims during therapy are to:
• Offer an open, non-judgmental, and honest space in which you are able to explore what’s wrong,
• Help you to understand and make sense of what’s going on,
• Identify what matters to you, the kind of person you want to be, and the direction you would like your life to go in,
• Help you to forge a new path.
In a typical session, we could be doing anything from: 1) learning skills to handle difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively, so that they have less power over you; 2) clarifying what matters to you, what you want to stand for, how you want to treat yourself and others, what gives you a sense of meaning or purpose; and 3) taking action to solve problems, and doing things that make life better.
If life feels overwhelming, and you're ready to make changes but don't know where to start, then please know that you don't have to do this alone. Let's talk (and feel!) this out.
Check out my website for more details on my approach and drop me a message to book a session!
