I am a counsellor offering individual, couples and mother/ daughter counselling as well as career counselling.
I am passionate in working with anyone who feels anxious, finds relationships challenging, needs support in coping with different stresses in life, menopause and perimenopause, wants to feel more confident and build better self awareness.
I am down-to-earth, supportive and warm, yet professionally grounded in with wide range of training and work experience with various issues.
My role as a counsellor is to offer you a safe, confidential and trusting relationship which support you to explore either issues from the past or present.
The sessions are for you. They are not clinical, "you talk, I just listen" sessions, but a safe place for you to be unapologetically you. There can tears but there can be laughter too.
You do not need to let anxiety to take over your life. You can learn to understand and cope better in your relationships with others (romantic, family, friends or colleagues). You can improve your self-confidence and self-esteem. You can learn to manage your stress better.
You might be thinking if your issues are "big" enough for you to attend counselling. If it has an impact on your life and is something which makes you feel unhappy, unsettled or wondering "who am I", then it is "big" enough.
I know how daunting it can be to make the first contact as I have been there too . So why not give it a try. You have already made the first step by being here.
I would like to invite you to book a short phone call with me to find out more what is counselling and if it could help you.
You can learn about me as a counsellor and if you feel you can talk to me openly. There is no obligation to book any further sessions after the call, neither is there a set number of sessions I would ask you to have.
These are some of the issues which are close to my own personal and work experiences, and where I feel counselling can really support:
I work with you to find an approach which suits you best. Sometimes it’s offering a place to talk about anything and everything in a safe and confidential place. Sometimes it can be more active approach where you get coping tools to support you between sessions.
Talking to a counsellor is different than talking to a friend or family. Main difference is that I am not judging you at all, neither do I tell you what to do or give advice. I listen, and give you a place to be heard, and then support you to reflect and gently challenge your beliefs and thoughts which might be hindering you to feel good about yourself.
Personal counselling and couples counselling are two different things. Personal counselling supports you to gain more self-awareness and understanding about you.
Couples counselling and mother/daughter counselling works with your relationship. It is solution focus counselling where aim is to help you to communicate with each other better. It is not to find out whom to blame, but help you to understand own and each other's needs and what is happening in your relationship better. I work also with couples who have decided to separate and need support in dealing with the change.
