Summer holidays can be great fun, but the change in routine can also make parenting more challenging.

That’s especially true if you have a Highly Sensitive Child – a phrase coined by Dr Elaine Aron to describe the 20-30% of the population who process sensory input, thoughts and feelings more deeply than most. Sensitivity is a wonderful gift, and such children can often amaze us with their empathy, creativity and emotional intelligence. But they can also struggle to adapt to the long stretch of free time during the holidays, or may feel overwhelmed by travel or new environments.

In this hour-long webinar, Dr Genevieve will provide insights into the kinds of unique pressures that Highly Sensitive Children can experience, and offers practical tips for managing them. You are welcome to come along and simply listen but there will also be ample opportunities to ask questions and share experiences. The emphasis is on live participation and so the session will not be recorded.

Themes covered will include:

· Supporting your child to adapt to changes in routine and try new activities

· Avoiding overstimulation, sibling squabbles and managing meltdowns

· Structuring your day in ways that work for both you and your child

· Handling travel and vacations

· Sleep, playdates and screentime
